about

More unrequited love from 1980 or so. I hear the influence of the Steve Gibbons band here, especially in song structure. Known as the British Bob Seeger, Gibbons vocal style has had it's influence on me.

lyrics

I read your letter, I read it twice
Said let's be friends, that's kind of nice
I've got to hand it to you couldn't have hurt me more
In any other way
By the time I get over it you'll have gone away again
And I won't see you anymore

You know I still really want you
But there is nothing, nothing I can do
I've got to tell you straight away I needed you
But you were never there
By the time I get over it you'll have gone away again
And I won't see you anymore

You know it's a funny thing
But you really had me on a string
You took me along for a ride
You made me think that there was something there
By the time I got out of there you took him along and fixed your hair
And I didn't see you anymore
