If you see Charlie James walking down the road Please don't tell him which way you see me go Had a whole lot of trouble since I saw you last Oh, I don't know my future, I don't want to see my past Had a whole lot of money one day, one day The very next day I did not have a dime Looking on down the road as far as I can see You know I thought I saw my old time used to be In whole lot of trouble one day one day The very next day I did not have a dime. Looking on down the road as far as I can see I thought I saw my old time used to be If you see Charlie James walking down the road Oh please don't tell him which way you see me go

Well, take a look at this I scrambled to the top Of the House of Contradictions You can tell by how I talk Any crazy way you know I'm looking just to win But I'm never gonna get there And I don't know how to begin You say you're gonna build your wall so high But I'm gonna knock it down Knock it on down What's that you said? I know it ain't true I've listened to your silly whining All the time You act like you don't know What I'm talking about But you've become so deaf That all I can do is shout You say you're gonna build your wall so high But I'm gonna knock it down Knock it right to the ground Gonna knock you down too.

Don't Wait 02:04
Don't you wait for me anymore I've long since passed you by And I don't need you anymore There's nothing for you to wait for Your train just left the station And you're standing at the door Please don't try to follow me Don't you know that it's too late? There's nothing left to go back to I've long since locked that gate Don't you cry for me anymore I'm beyond the point of caring I don't feel things anymore There's no point in wondering why It's useless to commiserate The past can't be denied

No longer a child I tried to go back If only for a day Travelling down the winding roads Of my long past youth i found that I just could not stay Feelings come on strong When confronted with a past I've taken so much care to forget Time has caused decay And I'm standing here dismayed At the one thing I've never done But I never could say goodbye to you It's the one thing that I just could not do And though you're gone And I've waited far too long I just came here to say goodbye to you So I'm standing on this road Confronted with a past Knowing that there's no way that I can reach you As a child, I loved you so At the time I did not know One day I'd hafe to say goodbye

Talk To You 03:32
Sitting alone with thoughts that do not cease The ache inside destroys my inner peace My mind drifts back and I think of you And all the things we used to do Remember the dragons I saved you from? How I trusted you more than anyone Remember how we'd walk though those fields of green Revealing things our hearts have never seen I remember all these times There's nothing I can do 'Cause all I really want Is just to talk to you Sometimes I think I should just call Then I realize you'fe not there at all It's been a long, long time But it's still you I'm thinking of I try to forget but it's not been long enough

about

This album took me about 4 years to complete. It is a mixture of things that were completed on my Tascam DP-24, Magix Music Studio, and demos done on my Tascam DP-0004. It is the first time in awhile I did a cover tune ("Gliders and Parks") and a traditional folk blues tune ("Charlie James"). It is my stepping away from recording on a computer to a stand alone recorder.

The songs are a mixture of new at the time such as "Knock It Down", "Don't Wait", "Talk To You". and "Believe". "Obsession" is from the mid 90s and was co-written with Rob Aldrich. The others are from the early to mid 80s.

With the Tascam DP-24 I started using mics on the guitars and guitar amps and moved away from the mainly direct signals you can hear on ""Believe", "Lunch Counter Girl", and "Obsession." So, the process started to take a lot longer.

The three demos at the end of "Don't Wait", "Talk To You", and "Believe" were recorded on retreat in a little Hermitage called Pacem In Terris in St. Francis, MN. In fact, over the few days there I wrote 5 songs!

I hope you enjoy. There are some physical copies available if you like CDs and if it is still listed they are available, they are.
