I've been feeling kind of low down
Wearing nothin' but a frown
'Cause my life has let me down
And I'm the poorest man in town
But I'm really not as blue as I might be
'Cause I've still clung to most my dreams

I've got the almost blue blues
I don't feel bad enough to qualify
For that all time blue feeling
But I'll sure give it a try

I'm not too happy living like I live today
I feel put down in most every way
I'm a very poor poor man
I'm doin' all I can
But it slips away like sand
And no-one understands
That I'm really not as blue as I might be
So don't feel sorry for me.
