about

Written for a female basketball player who will remain nameless, this is the first "love" song I wrote. The first recording of it was at Rob Hanson's house as it became the second song off out second "album" MR PEABODY'S COAL MINE. I think I had mastered the chords of D, Am, and Em. I was sing Robert's dad's guitar, and we recorded it in his room. I remember I was facing out the window and the words on a little ledge in front of the window.

I removed the minor cords and used D, A, and E. Guitars used are my Fender 12-string and a Grote Jazz Guitar for the electric parts. I also used it, I believe, for the synthesizer parts through my Boss SY1. It's a bit lower than I usually sing now, it seems to work.

Guitar amplifier for this and all other songs except as noted is a Bugera 5 watt tube head run through an old Crate cabiniet with a Cannibis Rex Hemp speaker.

lyrics

I NEVER REALLY LOVED
BEFORE I SAW HER FACE
SHE IS SO BEAUTIFUL
WITH ABOUNDING GRACE

OH I LOVE HER
YES I LOVE HER
YES I DO

SHE'S AN ANGEL WHICH
CAME DOWN FROM ABOVE
AND SHE HAS YET
TO KNOW OF MY LOVE

AND I LOVE HER
YES I LOVE HER
YES I DO

MY PROBLEM LIES IN THAT
SHE LIVES SO FAR AWAY
AND THE ONLY WAY TO TELL HER
IS TO WRITE HER EVERY DAY

AND I LOVE HER
OH I LOVE HER
YES I DO
